Comparison

FreightPane vs Epicor Quick Ship

They solve different problems. Quick Ship gets shipments out the door — rate shopping, labels, BOLs, 40+ carriers. FreightPane lets your customers track them — interactive map, ocean freight, share links.

Complementary, not competing. Most manufacturers use both.

The core difference

Quick Ship = Shipping Execution

Rate shopping across 40+ carriers, printing labels, generating BOLs, booking pickups, handling LTL with customer-negotiated rates, and calculating carbon emissions. Quick Ship is the tool your shipping department uses to get packages out the door.

  • Parcel + LTL rate shopping on one screen
  • Labels, BOLs, return labels, hazmat docs
  • Freight analytics in Grow BI (internal dashboards)
  • Freight invoice validation via ECM

FreightPane = Customer-Facing Visibility

Customer-facing tracking portal with an interactive map, ocean freight container tracking with AIS vessel positions, and branded share links. FreightPane is the tool your customers use to see where their order is — without calling you.

  • Interactive 3D globe with every shipment plotted
  • Ocean container tracking + AIS vessel positions
  • Branded share links (customers track without logging in)
  • Deep links back to Epicor Kinetic records

One handles outbound execution. The other handles inbound visibility for your customers. Together, they give your Epicor environment a complete shipping workflow.

“But Quick Ship has tracking”

Quick Ship provides freight tracking through Grow BI dashboards — carrier performance, delivery status, and freight P&L. These are internal analytics for your shipping team. Here is the difference:

Quick Ship + Grow BI

  • Carrier Performance Dashboard in Grow BI
  • Delivery Status Dashboard in Grow BI
  • Freight P&L content pack in Grow BI
  • CO₂e trends in Grow BI
  • Shipping activity reports for managers

FreightPane

Customer-facing tracking portal

The ocean freight gap

Quick Ship does not track ocean containers

Quick Ship integrates with parcel carriers (FedEx, UPS, DHL) and LTL carriers (XPO, Saia, Old Dominion, and 20+ more) for domestic shipping execution. It does not track ocean freight containers.

If you import raw materials or finished goods via ocean freight, FreightPane fills this gap with container milestone events from FindTEU, real-time AIS vessel positions, port-to-port route visualization, and ETA updates — all linked to your Epicor purchase orders.

Quick Ship’s carrier network

Quick Ship integrates with 40+ parcel and LTL carriers for rate shopping and label printing. FreightPane reads the tracking numbers these carriers generate and provides customer-facing visibility.

All parcel and LTL. No ocean carriers. FreightPane adds ocean container tracking via FindTEU + AIS Stream.

Better together

Quick Ship gets the shipment out the door — the right carrier, the right rate, the right label, the right BOL. FreightPane picks up where Quick Ship leaves off and lets your customer track that shipment from warehouse to jobsite on a live map.

The workflow

  1. 1Your team ships the order using Quick Ship — picks the carrier, prints the label, books the pickup
  2. 2The tracking number lands on the Epicor pack slip
  3. 3FreightPane reads the pack slip, plots the shipment on the map, and generates a share link
  4. 4Your customer clicks the link and sees their order on a live map — no calls, no emails

Frequently asked questions

Does FreightPane replace Epicor Quick Ship?

No. FreightPane and Quick Ship serve completely different purposes. Quick Ship handles shipping execution — rate shopping across 40+ carriers, printing labels, generating BOLs, booking pickups, and tracking carbon emissions. FreightPane handles post-ship visibility — giving your customers a branded tracking portal with a live interactive map, ocean freight tracking with AIS vessel positions, and shareable tracking links. Most manufacturers benefit from running both side by side.

Quick Ship has tracking in Grow BI. How is FreightPane different?

Quick Ship provides internal freight tracking dashboards through Grow BI — carrier performance, delivery status, freight P&L. These are analytics tools for your shipping manager. FreightPane provides external, customer-facing tracking — a branded portal your customers visit to see where their order is on a live map, without logging into your ERP or Grow BI. The audiences are different: Grow BI is for your team, FreightPane is for your customers.

Can I use FreightPane without Quick Ship?

Yes. FreightPane connects directly to your Epicor Kinetic REST API and reads pack slips, sales orders, POs, and container records. It does not depend on Quick Ship, Grow BI, or any other Epicor module. If your shipment data is in Epicor, FreightPane can display it.

Does FreightPane support the same carriers as Quick Ship?

FreightPane tracks shipments from any carrier as long as there is a tracking number on the Epicor pack slip. Quick Ship integrates natively with 40+ carriers for rate shopping, label printing, and booking. FreightPane does not rate shop or print labels — it reads the tracking number Quick Ship (or your carrier) generated and provides customer-facing status updates and map visualization.

Does FreightPane handle LTL or parcel shipping?

FreightPane does not handle shipping execution (booking, labels, rates). For domestic parcel and LTL, FreightPane reads the tracking number from your Epicor pack slip and provides tracking visibility on a map with customer share links. For ocean freight, FreightPane goes deeper — container milestone events, AIS vessel positions, port-to-port route visualization, and ETA updates. Quick Ship covers parcel and LTL execution but has no ocean freight capability.

Does Quick Ship track ocean containers?

No. Quick Ship integrates with parcel carriers (FedEx, UPS, DHL) and LTL carriers (XPO, Saia, Old Dominion, etc.) for domestic shipping execution. It does not track ocean freight containers, provide AIS vessel positions, or visualize port-to-port ocean routes. FreightPane fills this gap with container milestone events from FindTEU and real-time vessel positions from AIS Stream.

How long does it take to set up FreightPane alongside Quick Ship?

FreightPane connects to your Epicor Kinetic API in minutes. Enter your API URL, and FreightPane auto-discovers your carriers, pack slips, and containers. There is no conflict with Quick Ship because they operate on different parts of the workflow — Quick Ship handles outbound execution, FreightPane handles inbound visibility for your customers. You can be live with FreightPane the same day.

Does Quick Ship have an interactive map?

No. Quick Ship provides delivery status dashboards and carrier performance analytics through Grow BI, but these are table-based reports, not interactive map visualizations. FreightPane displays every shipment — domestic and ocean — on an interactive 3D globe where you can see real-time positions, click into shipment details, and share a map view with customers.

Give your customers visibility

FreightPane connects to Epicor Kinetic in minutes. No implementation project, no middleware, no disruption to your Quick Ship workflow.
